We were so relaxed at The Shed … there were three families and in our group, it has every thing you need for a great base which has loads of room for everyone.

THE SHED is a 5 bedroom two story spacious ski lodge with a homely feel.
Its perfectly placed to suit family and friends who like to dine together at home with a roaring fire.
The kitchen is brand new long and fully equipped for dinner parties with a dishwasher electric fan with gas flame element good sized bench and preparation area two fridges, large toaster, dinner party supplies i.e. wine glasses platters large serving dishes slow cooker, baking dishes etc ideal for large groups. There are two dining areas one off the kitchen seating 8 comfortably with extra chairs and a breakfast bar bench for 4 with wood burning fire nearby
The house has a large lounge with wood fire, flat screen TV Sky DVD and large dining table, chairs. Windows from ceiling to floor with amazing garden views. A sweeping staircase off the lounge leads to a mezzanine on the second level.
There are four bedrooms off the mezzanine upstairs One bedroom downstairs
There is one large bathroom upstairs with a toilet sink and bath.
A second bathroom with shower and toilet is off the lounge downstairs as is a walk in drying room with large controlled heating for clothes drying
The Shed has a private driveway and half an acre of beautiful garden
Situated in Rangataua it is a 5km drive to the entrance of the Turoa side of Mt Ruapehu ski field

The Shed is a 5 minute drive into Ohakune or approx one hours walk for the light hearted in winter to THE CYPRUS TREE Restaurant end of town in Ohakune or 5 minutes drive to the entrance to the Turoa Ski Field and Junction area

We are 5 couples with little ones and found the house so well suited to us. It is beautifully presented with everything you need (even kids toys, bath toys & a child step for the toilet!!) and enough bedrooms and space to spread out and not feel on top of one another.
Great house, warm and cosy, ideally situated just out of Ohakune – private & quiet with a mint view of the mountain! Everything we were looking for.
Along with your friendly service it was a brilliant long weekend.

Our kids LOVED The Shed as soon as they arrived they just ran upstairs to play and only came back down for food.
Every time I’ve stayed at The Shed it been so warm with the two fires we just walked around in T shirts while it was snowing outside !!
The beds were really comfortable and had “hotel” type sheets and the kind of bed linen I wish I had at home !
The Flat screen is awesome we snowboarded all day and watched rugby all night sweet !!

For all bookings, HE SHED requires a $300 Bond ( $600 for special events )
Bookings will be confirmed by email on receipt of this payment.
Full payment of the rental amount is required FOUR weeks before your booking date.
Confirmation will be emailed with location of house key and any other additional information that you may require.
Payments are preferred by internet banking.
Paying by credit card is available on our website but there is a 4% credit card fee charged for every payment.
Failure to pay will entitle the property owner to cancel the booking and not refund the bond.
Bonds will be repaid within 7 days of departure by internet banking.
Bonds repaid into overseas accounts will not include bank transfer fees or credit card fees.
Entry to THE SHED can be FROM 4pm and departing at 10am.– unless specifically pre approved and arranged by email
A compulsory linen and cleaning fee will be included in your rental cost Hire linen is provided this is a top and bottom sheet duvet pillow case and one towel for each guest. There are handtowels, bathmats and T towels provided at THE SHED.
You are expected to leave THE SHED tidy on departure .
If the cleaning of the property takes more than 5 hours a further $30 per hour cleaning fee will be deducted from your bond
THE SHED asks that you take your rubbish and recycling to the recycle station on departure.
We do not permit more than 14 guests specified on the booking enquiry to sleep at the property.
This is against fire regulations.
If this condition is broken, it will result in immediate eviction of tenants from the premises, with complete loss of rental and bond.
Where the property is not left secure or any damages made, the tenant agrees to pay for any costs to reinstate the property including any damage costs. Please note that guests are responsible for the cost of any repairs or replacements should any damages occur during their stay.
Cancellation is not permitted for bad weather and CLOSED MOUNTAIN DAYS. This includes rain, lack of snow, poor visibility on mountain slopes, volcanic eruptions, storms, and general bad weather. If for any reason you decide to cancel your booking your bond will be held. If all of your accommodation balance has been paid and we cannot replace your booking 50% of your booking cost will be held.
THE SHED has a NON SMOKING and NO PETS policy please.
